Broken Heart

What can mend a broken heart?
Just pluck and power of will
The strength to say,
“This life of mine to make the best of still however much it costs
I’ll show the world that I can take it.
This face is far from smiling, but I’ll lift my head and make it.
I could grow old and bitter, such resentment do I feel, but if I take that attitude my heart will never heal.”
God help me to be brave that I may put my woe aside and use the sorrow to be someone else’s help and guide.
